PITCH GUIDELINES

Create your idea.  It should be a solution to a problem and something where the prototype can be built online.

Practice pitching your idea in 60 seconds or less.  State the problem, how your idea is a solution, who your customer is, and how this is feasible as a business (i.e. can it make money or be a non-profit.)

WHAT TO BRING

Positive attitude

Creativity

Laptop Power cord

Networking cards

Camera - share the event while you are in it and afterwards.

Before The Weekend

Work on your pitch (if you have an idea)

TELL YOUR FRIENDS - we are the community that everyone brings to the event

Connect with local entrepreneur meetups and groups

Read entrepreneur blogs and journals

Encourage others to learn about startup weekend and participate regardless of their professional skill.

How are Details Handled

As in any startup, the startup builds based on how the teams develop it.  If you form a company afterwards, during or just walk away with a great energy and connection, it's entirely up to you and your team.

What happens afterward

The general goal is for teams to walkaway with a prototype ready to move towards the next level of the company they formed, but again it entirely up to participants and some times this isn't realistic based on the idea in development.  We do believe in the community that emerges from the event and encourage teams to stay in touch and updated via the blog and live reunions.

Sponsorship Opportunities

We encourage local supporters of startups to sponsor the event.  We have several sponsorship levels.  Please review the benefits and levels here.

Can't spend the whole weekend, but want to get involved:

For those interested in being involved but can't commit to the event or aren't ready to be on a team, we encourage you to be part of the hands that put together the event.  This includes everything from picking up food and beverages to managing equipment to spreading the word before and after.  Or just come to presentation night and observe all that comes out of this incredible event.
