18 Hour How It Works
EVENTS: 18 HOUR START-UP
How it Works
One Friday Night + One Saturday = Company Launch
Friday Night: The Pitch - innovators pitch your ideas to the group. Don't have an idea. You sit and listen and find what appeals to you. The pitches are voted on and people gather around the ideas based on feasibility and interest. Teams are formed and development begins.
5pm arrival; pitches begin at 6:30ish
Saturday Morning: Arrive at 9am or before (work space opens at 7am) and continue work in teams. Snacks on hand. Guests available for advice from all arenas including VCs, development, entrepreneurs, etc.
Lunch Break: Stretch, grab some food, network
Saturday Afternoon: Push hard on development of prototype to present
Saturday Evening: Dinner and presentations. Prototypes presented and voted on. Guests invited to join in to watch the pitches. You never know when you are seeing the next big thing.
From here, participants can continue their work as a team or decide to just jump in at the next weekend. Every startup has its own character and development and whether participants leave with a company formed or just in the works is up to them. We do promote the continuation of the community and schedule reunions for the group and provide ongoing resources for everyone to keep in touch.
