FAQ

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Why should I join yet another community?

Certainly, that's what we thought.  Between meetups and Chamber of Commerce and other "business" conenctors, there are several groups to select from.  While Outside the Cube tends to be more cost effective than other groups in that you pay an annual fee, less than our most communities, and you do not pay for attending most events., there are added benefits. Certainly you enjoy access to a community directory and onsite member area, but more importantly you gain a place to brainstorm, a group to bounce ideas off of, and a network to support your dreams.  Outside the Cube members receive connections to expertise & support to build their businesses and overcome hurdles.  Members are empowered to utilize their strengths & troubleshoot difficult areas of business so they can soar.  Outside the Cube members enjoy access to an amazing community.

"What I have found most valuable and incredibly exciting about Outside the Cube is that we end up coaching one another as we learn...kind of like "oh I had my aha moment, now let me help you..the barriers are down, the motivation is high and it is a genuine sharing and caring of information and best practices...thank you Outside the Cube."

What's different about Outside the Cube events?

Ever been to that networking event where you felt like everyone was trying to just sell you something?Outside the Cube is different than other entrepreneurial communit in that it is not a place for businesses to just sell themselves to each other.   This is a community.  We share what we do and certainly love to get business from the community but it is about supporting each other and providing resources and ideas to grow each other's businesses while learning how to build our own entrepreneurial dreams.  You see new faces and old faces and 95% of our events are interactive discussions focused on your business needs.  These are opportunities to brainstorm on your goals not just to listen to someone tell you that Twitter is king when Twitter may not be the best ROI for your particular business.  Round table discussions and bootcamps are kept limited in number so everyone has a chance to contribute and receive feedback.  Speaker events and classes are determined largely by the demands of the community and by what the community has to offer each other.

"I just came out of Entrepreneur & Eats event.  I am totally energized and feel like I have a solid plan to overcome our flailing customer base.  This is definitely one of the best groups I have been to in a long time.  What a great idea to put all the events in one place.  Now I can actually keep track on my calendar and have one place to go for everything.  Very excited about not dumping more money each time, too.  COOL!"

Why not just work at my local cafe?

Sure you can plunk down $6.50 for coffee and a pastry at your local cafe and in theory have a work session.  But how often have you talked to your neighbor or tried to hold a "professional" meeting there.  Do you regularly have a group to bounce ideas off of or get feedback on your collateral in a face to face environment?  Do you have a connection to resources and professionals for collaboration?  Can you count on the neighbor checking in on how it is going and sharing their blogging experiences?  Outside the Cube offers the resources, catalyst, and energy to grow your business just by regular interaction.

"I like being in one space for everything.  I work mostly at home but come in about once a week for an event and then usually stay in work.  It's energizing and focusing working around other people.  I feel a bit more like I am part of a team as opposed to hold up in my little room at home."

What does a Professional membership include?

The professional membership allows you to attend any non-fee based event for the duration of your membership.  This includes member events, round table discussions, Featured member workshops, and most guest speakers.  Classes are available at a discounted rate to members as well as targeted consulting.  There are typically 3 - 4 events per month at no charge.  Additionally, membership allows you to connect with our entire community through our social media groups and advertise in our newsletter as well as to work in the space and be a featured member.

Can I use the work space without being a member?

You may attend one event without joining as a member of the Outside the Cube community.  We are about building a solid community and therefore we ask that all professionals join our community if they work in the space after the first month of working in the space.

Do I have to work in the space?

You may opt to just be an annual member and attend events.  You are not required to work in the space and many of our members do not work in the space.  Should you sign up as a professional member and then opt to add on work space, you may do that at anytime during your membership.

Are there dedicated desks and offices?

You may rent a dedicated desk i.e. leave your belongings or office separately from our member packages.  Please inquire directly with the director at your location for pricing and availability.
